Timber is a commodity like any other. For instance, farmers will check the market for the price of beef before selling cattle but most don't think of checking the selling price of white oak. Oftentimes the only timber price advice they receive is from the buyer.
People don't usually rely on having the value of an asset determined by the buyer; they seek the advice of a professional who is working for their best interest -- not the buyer's best interest. BFS foresters are not affiliated with any lumber companies. They can go out and receive the best competitive price for the landowner.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Involvement and oversight of a consulting forester assures proper harvesting, road building and restoration practices are followed to minimize environmental and aesthetic impact.

Arthur Boyer, A.A.S.
Arthur began his forestry career in 1971 with the Ohio Power Company. He is an expert in forest management, forest inventory and appraisal, reforestation, forest research studies, forest management, timber sale administration, and forest recreation. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters and the Ohio Forestry Association.
Tim James, A.A.S.
Tim has practiced wildlife control since 1975, wildlife and fish management since 1998 through the Ohio Division of Wildlife as a past employee and present volunteer. He joined Buckeye Forestry Services in 1999. He is experienced in forest management, forest inventory and appraisal, and timber sale administration. Tim is also a member of the Society of American Foresters and the Ohio Forestry Association.
